The Head of State takes part in the “Central Asia – United States” Summit

Expressing gratitude to the President of the United States for organizing the historic meeting at the White House, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the C5+1 Summit marks the beginning of a truly new era of cooperation between Central Asia and the United States.

The Head of State highlighted the role of U.S. President Donald Trump in international politics, describing him as a prominent statesman.

— I am convinced that your wise and bold policy needs to be strongly supported worldwide, and I firmly stand on your side. Under your presidency America is ushering in a new Golden Age. I commend your far-sighted vision of Making America Great Again. This inspires me to pursue target-oriented strategy towards building Just and Strong Kazakhstan on the basis of my concept ‘Law and Order’. As ‘President of Peace’, you, Mr. Trump, brought to an end eight wars within eight months, thus you have evidently reinforced America’s role as a pillar of international stability, — the President said.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to further strengthening its strategic partnership with the United States.

— I highly appreciate your unwavering support to advancing Kazakh-American multifaceted cooperation. As early as in your first term in the White House, our relations have been legally fixed as Enhanced Strategic Partnership. The United States is the largest investor, with over $100 billion dollars in our economy as its perpetuum mobile. Our trade turnover has doubled in recent years and is approaching $5 billion dollars. We cover almost 25 percent of America’s domestic uranium demand. Kazakhstan has become a home-country for 600 American companies, — said the Head of State.

President Tokayev informed that during the current visit, deals worth over $17 billion were signed between companies of the two countries.

Overall, the potential of economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United States — spanning such key areas as energy, critical minerals, industry, transport, finance, artificial intelligence, and education — exceeds half a trillion dollars.

The Head of State called on American companies to take advantage of the unique opportunities created in Kazakhstan and assured investors of his personal support.

On May 4-5, 2024, the Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was held in Banjul, Republic of Gambia. First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Ismatullo Nasredin led the delegation of Tajikistan and made a speech at this event.

At the Islamic Summit, issues related to the present situation in the OIC countries, especially in Palestine, joint response to modern threats and challenges such as terrorism and extremism, as well as other pressing international issues were discussed.

As a result of the Summit, the Banjul Declaration was adopted.

On May 3, 2024, in Banjul, Republic of The Gambia on the sidelines of the Islamic Summit the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Ismatullo Nasredin met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of The Gambia Dr. Mamadou Tangara.

During the meeting the parties discussed ways to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries and other issues of mutual interest.

On September 15-16, 2023, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Farhod Salim took part in the Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Group of 77 and China on current development challenges: the role of science, technology and innovation in Havana, Cuba.

 

 

 

 

 

During the event, the main issues in the direction of sustainable development, especially the role of science, technology and innovation in ensuring food safety, health, new production processes, human well-being and a healthy environment were discussed and analyzed, as well as an exchange of views on the relevant topics among the delegations of the Group of 77 and China took place.

 

 

 

 

During the speech of the Deputy Minister, the need to strengthen technological potential in all areas vital for developing countries was emphasized, and the importance of developing science and technology and overcoming problems in the field of innovative development in the policy of our country was also noted.

The Summit was held in a friendly atmosphere, as a result of which the “Havana Declaration” was adopted.
