On March 9, 2023, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Muzaffar Huseinzoda received the copies of Credentials of newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ireland to the Republic of Tajikistan (with residence in Moscow) Brian McElduff.

During the meeting the two sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects of the development of relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and Ireland.

Deputy Minister congratulated the Ambassador of Ireland on his appointment and wished him every success in carrying out the responsible mission.

On March 9th, 2023, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Farhod Salim received the copies of Credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of New Zealand to the Republic of Tajikistan (with residence in Moscow) Mrs. Sarah Walsh.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on priority areas of bilateral cooperation and collaboration within the international organizations.

The Deputy Foreign Minister congratulated the Ambassador of New Zealand on her appointment and wished her success in her activity.

EKF cancels 2023 Senior European Championships in Moscow

The European Karate Federation today decided to remove the organisation of the 2023 EKF Senior European Championships from Russia.

The decision was taken today at an extraordinary EKF Executive Committee meeting. The gathering via videoconference was headed by EKF and WKF President Antonio Espinós and had the situation in Ukraine on top of the agenda.

Due to the conflict in Ukraine, the EKF’s decision-making body concluded that the right conditions to organise the event in Russia could not be met.

Following this decision, the EKF will now seek an alternative host nation for the 2023 continental championships. The venue of the next biggest Karate event on the continent will be announced in the coming weeks.

EKF and WKF President Antonio Espinós said:

“Amid the current regrettable circumstances, we want to express our deepest concerns and sympathies to all of those affected by this crisis. We hope that a solution to the conflict can be found soon so normalcy is restored and thus our events can safely be hosted again all over Europe”.

WKF relocates Karate 1-Premier League Moscow

The WKF has decided to relocate the Karate 1-Premier League event to be held in Moscow next October.

The Executive Bureau (EB) of the World Karate Federation on February 27th has unanimously decided to relocate the 2022 Karate 1- Premier League Moscow. The event was scheduled to be held from October 7 to 9.

The WKF has already started an active search to determine a new location for the event, as it is the WKF’s firm intention to keep the number of Karate 1-Premier League events in 2022 to five (5).

The WKF would like to express its hope for a prompt reestablishment of Peace, normality, and stability in Eastern Europe and in the World. With the protection of all Karate athletes at its core, the WKF will continue doing its utmost to ensure the best conditions for athletes at all WKF events.
